Patriot Day

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1 ESV
Morning Light
Tragedy scars deep—brokenness leaving you feeling powerless. On this Patriot Day, we remember 9/11, when towers fell, lives were stolen, and a nation shook. The pain of that day, like all destruction, tries to bury hope, whispering you’re too weak to stand. Maybe you’re out there, lost in your own ruins, thinking your sins or scars make you unworthy of a new start. But John 10:10 declares Jesus’ love is so great He came to give life—abundant, unshakable life. He died on the cross, not when you were whole, but when you were shattered, to raise you up. “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19 ESV). Turn from sin, trust Jesus, and let His Spirit empower you. “He may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit” (Ephesians 3:16 ESV). It’s like a spark igniting a wildfire, burning away despair to fuel courage. Jesus’ love doesn’t just heal—it empowers you to rise, to live fearlessly, because He is your light (Psalm 27:1 ESV). The 9/11 heroes ran toward danger; Jesus runs toward you, offering life. If you’re lost, seek His face, repent and trust Him today.
Quiet Place
Jesus, thank You for Your great love that empowers us with abundant life. Forgive our sins, help us repent, and embolden us to share Your Gospel. In 9/11’s shadow, be our light. “You are our strength” (Psalm 46:1 NLT).
