Look and Believe

“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40 ESV “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your

heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 ESV

Life can leave you feeling filthy and busted—sin clinging to you like grime, regrets splitting you apart, or that lost feeling, like you’ve wandered too far to belong anywhere. Maybe you’re out there, thinking your messes are too ugly, your brokenness too deep to be welcomed, scared you’re not worth saving. That weight crushes your rest, leaving you hungry for a place to land. But John 6:40 says Jesus offers eternal life to anyone who believes— simple as looking to Him. He died on the cross to wash you clean, not because you’re perfect, but because He loves you. “I acknowledged my sin to you… and you forgave the iniquity of my sin” (Psalm 32:5 ESV). Coming home to Jesus means turning from sin, saying, “You’re my Lord,” and believing He’s enough. “Let the wicked forsake his way… let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him” (Isaiah 55:7 ESV). It’s not complicated—just surrender, and His forgiveness wraps you like a blanket, giving rest and joy. Ever feel His love pull you back, like finding home after years away? That’s salvation, a simple relationship with Jesus, no matter how dirty you’ve been. If you’re lost, call Him Lord today. When did His welcome save you? Who needs His Gospel to find that rest?

Rest in Jesus’ salvation with these three ways to soar:

1. Think on Your Wandering: Reflect on a time you felt too broken to come to Jesus—journal what kept you away and how calling Him Lord could bring you home, letting John 6:40 sink deep.

2. Think on His Welcome: Picture a sin or regret you’re carrying—ask yourself, “What’s stopping me from confessing this to Jesus as my Lord?” and write one step to turn it over to Him today.

3. Do for Others: Share a kind word or act with someone feeling lost, telling them why you trust Jesus as Lord, pointing them to His forgiveness.

Jesus, thank You for dying to bring me home with salvation’s rest and joy. Forgive my sins, help me surrender as You’re my Lord, and share Your Gospel with the lost. “You are my refuge” (Psalm 32:7 NLT).
