Set Free by His Truth
Faith Compass
“If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 ESV “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and selfcontrol.” 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
Morning Light
Life can chain you down—sin tangling you like thorns, shame screaming
you’re too broken to stand tall. Maybe you’re out there, lost in guilt, thinking your failures lock you away, too weak to break free. That lie buries your courage, leaving you stuck, desperate for a way out. But John 8:31-32 shouts Jesus’ love is so great His truth sets you free. He died on the cross, not when you were perfect, but when you were trapped, to unlock your life. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins” (1 John 1:9 ESV). Salvation is bold: repent, trust Jesus, and stand in His truth. “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love” (2 Timothy 1:7 ESV). It’s like a hammer shattering chains, fueling you to rise. Jesus’ love doesn’t just forgive—it empowers you to live fearless, anchored in Him as your rock (Psalm 18:2 ESV). Ever feel His truth lift you, like wings catching a fierce wind? Find Grace in Him, that gives you joy and strength, hope to soar, courage to shine, and power to break free. If you’re lost, repent and trust Him today. When did His truth empower you to stand? Who needs His Gospel to find that freedom?
Walk It Out
Rise in Jesus’ salvation with these three ways to soar:
1. Think on Your Freedom: Recall a moment you felt trapped by shame— journal how Jesus’ truth sets you free, letting John 8:31-32 ignite courage in your soul.
2. Think on His Power: Name a sin or fear holding you back—ask, “How does Jesus’ love empower me to overcome this?” and write one step to trust His truth today.
3. Do for Others: Share a bold word or act with someone feeling stuck, telling them how Jesus’ truth empowers you, pointing them to His forgiveness.
Quiet Place
Jesus, thank You for Your great love that frees me with Your truth. Forgive my sins, help me repent, and embolden me to share Your Gospel. “You are my rock” (Psalm 18:2 NLT).
