Morning Light
Loss stings deep—grief crashing like a massive wave, brokenness making you feel powerless. Today, we mourn Charlie Kirk, a bold voice silenced by a tragic shooting at Utah Valley University. His fire for truth stirred hearts, and his loss shakes us, leaving questions and pain. Maybe you’re out there, feeling shattered, thinking your sins or sorrow make you too weak to stand. That weight drowns your hope, but John 16:20 says Jesus’ love is so great He turns sorrow into joy. He died on the cross, not when you were strong, but when you were broken, to lift you up. “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Salvation is simple: repent, turn from sin, and trust Him. “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:32). It’s like a dawn breaking through the darkness, giving you strength to rise. Jesus’ love empowers you to stand, to carry His hope, because joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Charlie’s life pointed to truth; so let this point you to Jesus’ joy. If you’re lost, repent and trust Him today. Salvation is a free gift, it’s up to you to make that choice.
Quiet Place
Jesus, thank You for Your great love that turns our sorrow into joy. Forgive our sins, help us repent, and empower us to share Your Gospel. Be near us in grief. “You are our joy” (Psalm 16:11 NLT). Lord, we lift up Erika, Charlie’s wife, and their precious daughter and son, so young and now facing such loss. Wrap them in Your tender love, like a shield against the pain. Grant Erika strength to stand, peace to rest, and hope to carry on. Surround their children with Your care, letting them feel Your presence as a steady comfort. May Your joy, promised in Psalm 30:5, break through their sorrow, and may Your church uphold them in love. Amen.
