I Have Come as Light

Hey friends and family, come close. John 12:46 says, “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness”. Jesus’ words pierce like a flame cutting through a starless night. Life can trap you in shadows—sin weighing heavy, regrets chaining you, or that lost feeling, like you’re wandering in a fog of your own making. Maybe you’re out there, carrying guilt for things you’ve done, scared you’re too far gone, thinking peace is for someone else. That darkness is suffocating, and it steals your rest, leaving you desperate for a way out. But here’s the truth: Jesus came as the light to save you, to lead you to rest and joy. He’s God’s only Son, who died on the cross to break those chains. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Jesus didn’t come to shame you—He took your sins, your guilt, and bore them on the cross, saying, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Salvation isn’t something you earn; it’s a free gift for anyone who turns to Him, no matter how lost you feel. But it starts with repentance—turning from sin, saying, “I’m done running,” and believing in His forgiveness. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out” (Acts 3:19). That's right! Your sins are forgotten! Gone. What does it mean to believe in Jesus’ light when you’re lost in the dark? It’s confessing your need, trusting His sacrifice, like a friend who lights a path and says, “Follow me home.” John 12:46 promises you won’t stay in darkness—His light brings forgiveness, washing you clean, and joy that fills your soul like breath of fresh air after running hard too long. “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11). Ever feel His forgiveness lift you, like stepping out into clear air? That’s salvation, Jesus pulling you into His love, no matter who you are. If you’re lost, hear this: He’s calling you now—repent, believe, and step into His light. In worship today, don’t hide in the shadows. Turn to Jesus, let His forgiveness free you, let His joy flood you, and share it, like leading a friend out of the dark. Jesus gave you a FREE gift; it is up to you to accept it. Will you receive it, if it was handed to you?

Here are three ways to rest in His salvation:

1. Think on His Forgiveness: Reflect on a time Jesus’ grace washed you clean—write it down to let John 12:46 sink deep.

2. Do in His Word: Read John 12:46 and pray, confessing your need and asking Jesus to fill you with His joy in worship.

3. Do for Others: Share a kind word or act with someone lost in guilt, pointing them to His goodness.

Let’s pray: Jesus, thank You for dying to give me salvation’s rest and joy. Forgive my sins, help me see where I am in need of a savior. I turn away, repent, and help guide me to share Your Gospel with the lost. “You are my salvation” (Psalm 35:3).
